Here's a list of some of the most frequently asked questions that I have come across.  I hope you find this section useful!

What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)?

NLP is a method that explores how language, thoughts, and behaviors connect—helping you reframe patterns and create positive change.

What is REBT?

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful beliefs to promote healthier thinking and behavior.

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)?

CBT is a structured approach that helps you recognize negative thought patterns and replace them with healthier, more effective ones.

Do you offer sliding scale payments?

Yes. I offer flexible rates to ensure coaching is accessible to those who need it.

I have never been to a life coach before. Is that okay?

That’s perfectly fine—many clients start with no prior experience. Coaching is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to you.

What will it cost?

The standard rate is $95 per session hour. Online session hours are $95 per hour, and in-person sessions are $125 per hour. Sliding scale options are available.  Package discounts are available.

How many sessions are necessary?

Every client is different. Some find value in just a few sessions, while others continue long-term for ongoing support.

How often do we have sessions?

Most clients meet weekly or bi-weekly, but frequency is flexible and based on your needs.

Can I do this totally online?

Yes. I offer HIPAA-compliant video sessions so you can work with me from anywhere.

Is in-person a possibility?

Yes, I meet with clients in person if they are within 30 minutes of Portland, Maine.

Will in-person sessions be in my home or business?

Yes, I can meet you in your home or business if it’s within my travel range.

Can I continue to see my therapist during these sessions?

Absolutely. Coaching can complement therapy, and many clients benefit from doing both.

Do you accept health insurance?

No. At this time, coaching is private-pay only.

Can I have my spouse sit in with me during the sessions?

Yes, with your consent. Some clients find it helpful to involve a spouse or partner.

Is there a lot of written after-session 'homework'?

Not necessarily. I may suggest simple practices or reflections, but they’re always tailored to your goals and lifestyle.

Is life coaching the same as seeing a psychologist?

No. Coaching focuses on personal growth and future goals, while psychology addresses mental health conditions. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy.

Note & Disclaimer: My coaching services should never be considered a replacement for psychological, psychiatric, or doctor-prescribed health care. They are stand-alone services designed to empower growth and change, and they can also serve as a complement to the care you may already be receiving.
